THE WORLD IS SICK.

How can I make such an accusation when my grandson is graduating from university this weekend and my granddaughter is thinking of getting married in 15 days?

In principle, such rather happy news should satisfy me, and not make me think of the world being sick. But the world ، willy-nilly, keeps on going, as if everything were fine.

And to think that several years ago I wrote an article entitled the world is mad. I even wondered at the time if we were being run by madmen. no matter how many times I've repeated that you don't repair violence with another violence, because if violence is demented, even insane, why act in a similar way. I even used the example of a certain Gandhi. Yes, this Gandhi, known as the Mahatma, that is to say, the great soul ... we miss him today. Here's a man who, by his perseverance by not using violence, succeeded in expelling the British, who had been living in India for years, without having raised a weapon against them.

We only have to look around us, in whatever part of the world we find ourselves, activities are certainly not happy. Demonstrations for all sorts of reasons are stirring people up, and we wonder when it's all going to end.

It's almost three years since Russia attacked Ukraine, causing a war in which thousands of soldiers on both sides are dying every day. And why? Because a man named Putin has decided to take over a territory that was once his. History repeats itself.

Today, another man is changing history. His name is Donald Trump, the new President of the United States. He was elected to solve problems. But this man changes his mind and his position every day, if not every hour. We no longer know what he wants. The fact remains that governments of all kinds have leaders who do not please their populations.

Another example, and that of France, which, with President Macron, hardly satisfies its population, and everyone, thinks he's taking sides with everything Islamic, while in England, following the quagmire, caused by the Brexit, there too nothing is settled.

The other serious problem is the war between Israel and Gaza. In a few months' time, Gaza will have been holding Israeli hostages for two years, after committing an unparalleled murder in Israel on October 7, 2023. Personally, I think it's irresponsible of Israel not to put an end to this war... and meanwhile, almost the whole world accuses Israel of mistreating these 2 million Palestinians deprived of everything, especially food and medicine.

Finally, a very old movement known as anti-Semitism seems to be rising from the ashes of the Shoah, and is manifesting itself in Europe as well as in America. Jews are dying every day, and nobody seems to mind. No matter how many times we ask why, no one can come up with an answer. Yes, it's a long, sad story that affects a people who have suffered for millennia.

I mentioned five subjects above that are making the world sick, and I'm sure there are many more. My question is: Does anyone care about this unfortunate situation? I don't think so, because if they did, the problem would be solved...

I'm trying on my own to understand this human behavior that surprises us all. Could it be that we've all become selfish, thinking only of ourselves? Others don't count. Me before others! And if I multiply this "Me" by billions of individuals, the answer becomes easy. It would prove what I said in the title.

For the world not to be sick, we'd have to change it. Now, with the advent of the Internet, the world has changed, but it seems that it hasn't been enough. That's why this new invention called artificial intelligence, known as A I, should solve all our problems. If I'm not sure but I'm sure the rest of the world believes in it a lot.

So I'm going to wait and hope that our world heals, because it really needs it.
