I THINK, BUT WHO AM I? Or should I rather say WHAT AM I?

All our life we have been fascinated by Descartes' famous words: COGITO ERGO SUM 'I THINK THEREFORE I AM', giving us the proof of God's existence and introducing us to a world where we believe ourselves invincible.

I will focus on the first verb of the question. To think.
And to say that it is to conceive (by the work of the mind, the reflection, the intelligence) ideas, opinions, intellectual notions. My reflection is to know if everyone makes this mental exercise when he thinks.

Do we know that our humanism is conveyed by thought? This thought that gives the world its existence. We must act as a man of thought. This faculty is given to each one, it becomes a tradition, let's say a heritage that we pass from generation to generation and so it is enriched and deepened.

And now that the first verb has been explained, have we asked ourselves the question? Who are we? Where do we come from? And where are we going?
I think I've found the answer that almost no one thinks of.

We come from a Tippa Serouha , in Hebrew) , that is to say, from a rotten drop, nothing else than a rancid, rotten, corrupted, dirty, bad semen.

Let's stop and think for a moment. Is it not true that this is our origin? And where are we going? Six feet under the ground to be devoured by masses of earth and become again this original particle.

And yet Job said: what is man that you have made so much of him? And that you focus all your attention on him? And I ask the question is :it so important? And if it is, shouldn't he be free of punishment? This is Job's reasoning. Should I do the same?

So does King David who sees it differently. He reminds God that he made man less divine but still gave him glory and majesty. God grants him the capacity for greatness even if he does not deserve it.

So we spend our lives without knowing where we come from or where we are going, believing ourselves to be supermen who can perform the miracles that God did not think to grant us.

If I had to choose between power and pleasure, I would not hesitate.
Today, we have all kinds of tools at our disposal, supposedly to govern better, and we don't manage to solve our problems. We all believe we have just causes, we arm ourselves with humility and restrictions to produce a certain security and what about it?

Power has always been the ability to affect others to get the desired results through persuasion, coercion, the stick and the carrot. And what happens to our soul when we perceive these manifestations of intrinsic power?
Nowadays, living without privacies, with a meager salary and long working hours, does this prove how wonderful power is?

What am I then? A man without power, but who prefers the meaning, the significance, the good sense and the good notion of things. All this rather than power. It is a fact that common sense existed in the eighteenth century when the evidence of human suffering, the blatant demands of human nature, was grasped, and a bath of moral purification was applied to the world. (these words are from Alfred North Whitehead)

If we thought differently, maybe we would respect our fellow man, maybe we would put ourselves in his place when he is going through unhappy moments. What do we need to change, to become better? To be what the world expects of us. And I am convinced that we will feel much better knowing that we are participating in an evolution worthy of us.
But this evolution also means a release. We have to learn to free ourselves from old ideas, old ways. The world has changed and we must also change. We must think differently. This is exactly what I am trying to do and to encourage others around me to join this new adventure.
Who am I?
I am nothing! Almost nothing, when I see that I cannot influence the course of history. No one listens to me, and if they do listen, they don't understand me.
And yet, I speak the same language.
Wrong! Nowadays, we speak differently, in fact, we don't speak anymore, we type on a little box. Orders, recommendations, wishes, are no longer given verbally. And the new generation accepts without saying anything.
What am I?
I am no longer even a link in the old chain. The chain has disappeared to give way to other ways of communicating, of reasoning, of begging. The power, that force that everyone wants to grab, is no longer the same. And if this power is so important, sometimes we must learn to leave it.
I believe that we do not know its extent and that is why we insist after failing.

And finally, I just read an article about how we are constantly reminded that we are incredibly tiny: it's as if we could look down on ourselves and see those tiny molecules of our insignificance bouncing around.
