SOME PEOPLE DON’T CARE ABOUT MONEY

Yes, I am about to talk about a subject that everyone, not only likes but rather loves ant that is MONEY. I may end up talking about CARE as well.

What made me want to write about this is  after I saw with my own eyes, the way this person treats it. For me it is a thing one must respect, considering the labor, the effort made to obtain it. But when I see it spent in uncouth ways, it disturbs my comprehension.

 

Granted, you can tell me : ´it is his money, let him do with it what he wishes  but still, at times there are limits and this limits are not correctly appreciated. And by the way, who an I to judge anyone doing what he or she does? I am most probably wrong and should reconsider my own thinking. If it is that person’s freedom, why am I to interfere? 

The problem for me is that we all know that there are a lot of people in need of this subject but are unable to get a little of it. Is it their own fault? Maybe.  When I think of all these kids finishing school and university, about to hit the job market, looking for a job that will get them the money to live better, I wonder whether they will all succeed. Sadly, that word money is their main concern for without it , how will they live properly?

So here I am, worrying about people I do not even know wishing them to have a good life. For isn’t that what we call happiness? That fancy word is part of the American idealism : « The pursuit of happiness « . And sadly, not everyone succeeds in this domain. When I ask why, the answer usually is  multiple. However, those who succeeded are sometimes not living the right way, I mean my right way’.

Caring is a beautiful word and I always wish people can care about others, especially those in need. I remember this nice word of Jackie Chan:
”Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life". Mother Teresa was the one who told us : ”Never be so busy as not to think of others".

I do believe that few  caring people can change the world. There is a word I like by the Dalaï Lama that expresses my feelings: « As human beings, we each have a responsibility  to care for humanity. Human beings need satisfaction and  friendship, yet friendship doesn’t come from wealth and power but from showing compassion and concern for others”.


All this to say that if you have money, now is the time to use it the right way. Many years ago, I discovered Og Mandino. I liked so much what he said that I remembered by heart some of his famous sayings. One of them goes like this:
“ Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again”.


Well, in the title of this paper I used two words care and money and I think I have covered them. There is so much I can add as every author spoke of these issues. Norman Vincent left  us this phrase :” To be successful is to be helpful, caring and constructive. Make everything and everyone you touch a little bit better “.


Few last words before I finish .They are from people who care: Edward Albert “ The simple art of caring is heroic”,  Marian Wright Edelman” You really can change the world if you care enough”. Jim Rohn” One person caring about another represents life greatest value”.


We all remember Harold Kushner when he spoke of happiness, he said : “Caring about others, running the risk of feeling and leaving an impact on people brings happiness. And since I cannot own words that are not mine, here is the last one from Maya Angelou: “ As you grow older , you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others “?


I am very happy to have shared with you a little bit of my concern and only wish the reader can take advice to implement what he or she believes make sense of this paper.
