THE OPPORTUNITY

I love the word opportunity and I think I'll write a little article about it.
My last article was about shyness and I encouraged young people to be a little more courageous, a little more daring. Sometimes you have to dare and that's unfortunately what's lacking in our lives.

Before going any further, I'd like to start by mentioning the most famous quotation of this word. It comes from Winston Churchill: "A pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty." The shortest quote: "From adversity comes opportunity".

It pains me to remember the opportunities I've missed in my life. Each one would have enriched me beyond measure, changing my life. I failed to see the bigger picture, settling for the present that satisfied me. And it was only later that I realized my mistake.

At the time, I didn't know Richard Branson, who would have warned me that if someone offered me an incredible opportunity but I wasn't sure I could do it, I would have said yes and then learned how to do it later. And I remember someone once telling me that every day is a new opportunity to change our lives and be what we want to be.

I'm only going to mention two companies that have offered me representation of their products: ADIDAS  and. MAKITA That was 40 or 50 years ago and I don't think about it anymore. But I've managed to offer my family everything they've wanted over the years.

Let's get back to opportunity. How do you define it? It's the character of what's opportune, what comes at the right time, what's appropriate at the right moment. In other words, to act according to circumstances and make the most of them.

Who better than Mother Teresa to give us the taste to appreciate life so much: "Life is an opportunity, take advantage of it. Life is a dream, make it come true. Life is a duty, fulfill it. Life is a game, play it. These wonderful words remind me of those of a famous model from the 80s, Miranda Kerr. She said something that appealed to me, recognizing myself in her: ''Every breath I take is a benedictIon and an opportunity to live in the joy of being alive".

Isn't change an opportunity? Isn't opportunity the chance to learn something new? Lao Tzu had a nice saying: "If in business you choose efficiency, to act, choose opportunity. John Adams said that every problem is an opportunity in disguise.

I admit to having used several famous names to dress up my text. I did so for two main reasons: one to embellish it, the other to educate the reader. Perhaps in the future each of us will recognize and appreciate the opportunity that presents itself, and act as I propose in this writing.
