ME AND MY DOVES.

The reason I put myself first is because I was there before they arrived. Indeed I'm often there in my garden on Sunday afternoons with my glass of Cuba librė in one hand and a cigar, preferably Cuban, in the other.
My birds are always at the rendezvous because they know I feed them regularly: lately, my regular birds, i.e. sparrows, have been joined by doves.

The latter eat a little more than the others. They're bigger, of course, so that's to be expected.Today, I decided to communicate with them, to talk to them. There's one who's been standing on the fence for a few minutes and looks like she's waiting for someone. I ask her, ‘’Are  you waiting for someone and she says yes:  ‘’I'm waiting for my husband. I reply, "We'll wait for him together.

Less than a minute later, another dove appeared and took up position next to the first. They look at each other and I expect them to embrace.  Yes, I did say embrace because I've seen doves and sparrows do it too. At this point, I turn to the first, the female, and say to her quite simply: What are you waiting for to kiss your husband? She replies very normally: There's no hurry!

With that, the husband headed for the feeder because he was hungry. I'm delighted to know that I've just satisfied this child of God, because I remember that when we were children, we were always told that birds were God's children and that we had to love them and help them. That's what I'm doing today.

While the doves are on the feeder, two sparrows show up and land where the doves were on the fence. They seem to be patient, waiting for the doves to finish feeding. I say to them: "You know, there's another feeder to your left, why don't you go there? And their answer is just as simple: Yes, we know, but we prefer this feeder to the other one, so we'll wait.

Another lesson these little animals teach us is patience, something few of us seem to lack these days. I recognize that they're right and tell them quite simply: I respect your decision.

It's my turn to wait for the outcome of this state of affairs. I'm patient and will wait.

For my part, I drink my Cuba librë and smoke my cigar. I say I smoke when I don't even know how. I inhale and repel what I'm supposed to swallow to give myself a good feeling, a kind of  impression. I like this impression, even if after a few minutes, the cigar is reduced in size.

Well, I've just realized that my doves have left and the sparrows have replaced them at the feeder. You'd think everything had a happy ending. I'm sure more doves will come and this scenario will repeat itself. That's why I won't stop feeding them. I've found a good store that sells me their food at a good price, and I make sure I always have a good inventory of their food.
